It doesn’t get any better than a classic Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich. It is the perfect food to start off your day, keeping you feeling full until your next meal.
Not to mention, this is a great breakfast to make when you don’t have much time to prepare, since it can be done in minutes and all the ingredients are likely at your fingertips. So for anyone who’s in a bit of a breakfast rut, and unsure what to make in the morning, or for those who are skipping breakfast altogether because you’re in such a hurry, I encourage you to stick with what’s tried-and-true.
This sandwich is so common for a reason, it’s simply delicious! And I’m posting this today in hopes of showing you just how quickly, and with little effort, this sandwich can be whipped together. I encourage you to spare just a few minutes in your hectic morning and give this sandwich a try, because breakfast is important and you are too!
Feel free to substitute for a cheese of your choice or a bread of your choice.
- ¼ cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 slice whole grain bread
- 1 egg
- Fry egg sunny-side up (to your liking). Place egg on slice of bread and top with shredded cheese. Pop sandwich into microwave until cheese melts (about 20 seconds). Alternatively, place sandwich on heated grill or skillet, until cheese melts, flipping sandwich halfway.
