So, the other day I was cleaning out our pantry and happened to find a can of low-fat sweetened condensed milk. I was inspired but a bit unsure of where to start. So I continued my search throughout the kitchen to hopefully spark some creative juices and I was pleased to find some frozen sliced peaches in the freezer.
Frozen Peaches + Condensed Milk = SUPER-SIMPLE PEACH SHERBET
ALSO (might I add):
2-ingredients + 1 blender = SUPER-EASY CLEAN-UP
And that’s all it took, I was off to SHERBET-ing!
600g sliced frozen peaches
1 can (300 ml) low fat sweetened condensed milk
(This makes about 1 quart of sherbet)
I simply blended the peaches and condensed milk until they became incorporated well and reached the creamy consistency below.
I then popped it into an airtight freezer-safe container and froze it for about 8 hours, until it reached the consistency I liked. Please note, this length of time may vary depending on the sherbet consistency you enjoy.
This sherbet turned out to be the perfect mix of peach and cream. It’s the perfect recipe to call on the warmer weather. It is so fresh, delightful and SO S-I-M-P-L-E to make!
I also found it to be perfectly rich in cream, even though the condensed milk was low in fat — definitely no need to add additional calories.
I look forward to trying this with other fruit. One note though, be sure to adjust the amount of condensed milk to reflect the sweetness of the fruit. Fruit that is already sweet enough, will require less sweetened condensed milk.
- 600 grams sliced frozen peaches
- 300 ml low fat sweetened condensed milk
- In a blender, blend together peaches and condensed milk until incorporated well and you’re left with a creamy consistency.
- Place in airtight freezer-safe container and leave in freezer until sherbet reaches the consistency of your choice.
Freezing time varies depending on your preference of sherbet consistency. I froze mine for about 8 hours.
